Which ID cards/documents are acceptable for Life in the UK test ?

"The biggest issue faced in LITUK Test"

Today, We are going to discuss a very serious issue that many candidates face in Life in the UK Test process. The issue is rejection of candidates at the test center due to invalid/unacceptable ID card/Document.

General-Identification-Document-Rules

Which ID cards/documents are acceptable?

GENERAL IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENT RULES

1.) The document should have a photograph that has a true likeness of the candidate.
2.) The document which is presented by the candidate on test day for identity confirmation should be same as the document candidate has used while booking the test.
3.) All the details candidate has used to book the test must be exactly same as on the document provided.

So, Now the question arises, which documents fulfill all these criteria. Any one of the following documents can be used by a person to fill/appear for the test.

1. Passport:- Candidate can use his/her country of origin passport. This passport must be original and still valid. Photocopy or expired/out of date passport will not be accepted.
2. Bio-metric Residence Permit Card:- This card is also known as BRP ( Bio-metric Residence Permit ) or BRC (Bio-metric Residence Card). This must be in date. Out of date BRPs or BRCs are not acceptable.
3. European Union (EU) Identity Card:- It must be in date.
4. Travel Document:- This must be in date. Remember, emergency travel document will not be accepted.

Proof-of-Address

So, now you will be thinking that one of these documents mentioned above will be sufficient to appear for the test.

Not at all, there is a twist in the story. One more document along with one of the above documents is also needed by the candidate while going to the test center.

That Document is "PROOF OF ADDRESS". If one is not having this, he/she will not be allowed to sit in the test.

So which documents will act as a Valid Proof of Address. Just remember the documents we are going to share should not be more than 3 months old. So let's have a look at the following documents.

1.) Gas/Electricity/Water bill.

2.) A council tax bill.
3.) bank or credit card statement (the printed copy of bank statement is acceptable only when it is stamped and signed by the issuing branch).
4.) UK photo-card driving licence.
5.) A letter from the home office with your name and address on it.

Please make sure that candidate's chosen proof of address must have candidate's name and address including postcode on the same page. The name on proof of address must be exactly same as provided during registration of test.

So, We hope now you all understand why so many candidates are turned away from the test center. Please take care all the things, We have mentioned in this blog and have a happy test.

Cheers!!!
