LIFE IN THE UK TEST

LIFE IN THE UK TEST is one of the tests you must pass to be eligible to apply for Indefinite leave to remain (ILR)/ Naturalization/ British Citizenship in the UK.You can take this test in any one of the 30 official test centers in the UK. You can choose the nearest one while booking with us.

It is a computer based test. Test duration is 45 minutes. Life in the UK test consists of 24 questions which are based on British Traditions and Customs. To pass this test, one needs to answer at least 18 questions correctly out of the given 24 questions.  Each question will have 4 options out of which only one will be correct.


There are following three cases in which one does not need to take this test
Case 1-  If one is under 18, is 65 or over.
Case 2- If one has passed it already then there is no need to pass it again- for example, if one is applying to become a citizen and has already passed it as part of his/her settlement application.
Case 3- If one has a long-term physical or mental condition, then there is no need to pass this test provided one must provide either a form or letter from a doctor confirming  physical or mental condition.

What is the validity of Life in the UK Test?

Life in the UK test does not expire and is for life. Please do not confuse this with the English tests as those have a 2 years validity.
Upon passing the life in the UK test, you will receive a pass certificate. This certificate has no expiry date, and can be used for all future applications.

To book LIFE IN THE UK TEST, you need  the following three things to book this test:
1.) email address
2.) debit or credit card
3.) any one of the following ID

a.) Passport from country of origin - may be out of date but cannot be cancelled
b.) UK photo card driving licence (Full or Provisional) - must be in date
c.) Immigration Status Document - may be out of date
d.) Valid travel document with a photo (you cannot use an emergency travel document)
e.) European Union Identity Card - must be in date

While booking with us, you don't need to worry about the preparation material. After booking we provide you the latest and updated study material as well as the practice tests.

If one has a disability he/she can make special requests while booking test, for example if candidate has a disability and need extra equipment or help accessing the center.

There is no need to carry any photograph but candidate's photo will be clicked on in the test center to confirm his/her identity with the ID.

Note:- if one refuses to have photo taken, then one will not be able to go through the test.

If one fails the test one must wait 7 days before taking the test again, but one can take the test as many times as one wants. One need to pay every time while booking the test.

You will get the certificate on the spot after passing the test. A unique reference number will be provided to you to complete your settlement or citizenship application. The Home Office will check through this unique reference number that whether you have passed this test or not.

One must carry his/her original ID card to the test center. The ID must be same one has used to fill the test.

You cannot bring anyone with you to the test center. Here anyone means anyone. Even you cannot bring children or any of your family members.

One will not be able to go through the test if one does not bring the same original ID.
